Freelancing, and turning down the letter
Campus placements did not work out, so I went the other way.
My grades closed that door, so I started exploring what I actually liked — design, video editing, movies, blogs, content. In July 2021 I got my first job offer and did not take it. I freelanced for one of my professors instead, then worked with a friend on blogs and copywriting. The money was small. The work was the first that felt like mine.
In 2022 the idea of a platform for freelancers started taking shape. A corporate offer came again; I signed the letter and then rejected it, because I wanted to attend the finals of a startup competition at college. We won. That was enough confidence to take the idea seriously.
